Description
2006 Acura TSX

What is a Brief History of the Acura TSX? In the 2002 model year;  American Honda replaced the Acura Integra hatchback with the Acura RSX. However, American Honda had produced the 'retired' Acura Integra as a hatchback and a 4 door sedan. Having no 'entry level' 4 door sedan in the Acura line - below the Acura TL; the Acura TSX sedan was produced to replace the Acura Integra sedan. The Acura TSX 4 door sedan was first introduced in the 2004 model year and could be desribed as 'like a fully equipped Honda Accord'. The Acura TSX had 2 basic body styles. The original body style ran from the 2004 thru 2008 and the latest body style ran from 2009 thru 2014. Having discontinued the Acura RSX hatchback in 2006; American Honda offered the Acura TSX as both a 4 door sedan and a 5 door sport wagon. The Acura TSX sport wagon ran from the 2011 production thru the 2014 model year. All Acura TSX units were assembled in Japan. The majority of Acura TSX units were equipped with the Honda's i-VTEC 4 cylinder engine but a small few - a very few - came factory-equipped with a V6 engine. In the 2015 production line; American Honda combined the Acura TSX and the Acura TL into one - the Ohio produced Acura TLX.

What's the Vehicle History of this Acura TSX? This Acura TSX is a one owner, non-smoker unit. It was originally placed into service in February of 2006 and it has only been registered in Smyrna, TN. The original owner of this Acura TSX  - who is one of our service customers - traded it in with us for a 2016 Acura TLX, that we had in our used car inventory.

Any Accidents? No. This Acura TSX has an accident-free history based on data provided through the Experian AutoCheck Report.

Has this Acura TSX been inspected and serviced? Yes. All Honda and Acura vehicles sold by Accurate Auto Sales are fully serviced and completely prepared for the next owner of the vehicle. The vehicle inspection and service items are not the same on every Honda and Acura vehicle. We determine the items needed on different Honda and Acura models, based on our experience in our own shop, Accurate Automotive. Below is a list and explanation on what service items were performed in preparing this Acura TSX for marketing - Accurate Automotive Work Order 26328, dated 10-31-2018 .

We changed the engine oil and filter. On most Honda and Acura vehicles; we highly recommend engine oil and filter changes every 3750 miles - regardless of the factory equipped oil life indicators that measure the effectiveness of the oil as a percentage of 'oil life remaining'. When the oil life gets to 15%, the owners manual calls for an oil change. The oil life indicator is based on an average oil change every 7,000 to 8,000 miles. Because the engine in this vehicle has a timing chain instead of a timing belt; the chain must be kept adequately lubricated. You cannot change the engine oil too many times, but you can definitely NOT change the engine oil often enough. We have found that more frequent oil change intervals of 3750 miles to not over 5000 miles are in the best interest of most car owners.

We changed the automatic transmission fluid.  Honda and Acura automatic transmissions are perhaps the easiest to keep maintained. These transmissions do not have a fluid pan or a serviceable fluid filter. To properly maintain most North American Honda and Acura automatic transmissions, you simply drain the case and refill it with the proper, genuine Honda transmission fluid. In the 1980s and thru the 1990s; American Honda specifically recommended a transmission fluid change at every 15,000 mile service interval, for their North American produced vehicles. While many things have changed in the 'automotive world' over the last 30 years; the design of the majority of Honda and Acura automatic transmissions has remained basically same - just bigger with more gear speed ratios. Our shop, Accurate Automotive still continues to highly recommend the changing of the fluid in most Honda and Acura automatic transmissions, every 15,000 miles or annually - whichever occurs first - and to only use the correct genuine Honda automatic transmission fluid.

We changed the brake fluid. All DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluids have a high affinity to moisture. This is why the steel fluid lines of fluid brake systems can 'rust out' and why brake fluid is known to be corrosive to bare metal - it attracts moisture. For this reason, it is wise to periodically change the brake fluid in a brake master cylinder. Brake fluid gets nasty / dirty, it is subjected to heat and it can get moisture in it.

We changed the engine coolant. The engine coolant / antifreeze has to be changed periodically because corrosion inhibitors in the coolant will lose their effectiveness. Aluminum engine blocks, aluminum cylinder heads, aluminum heater cores,  steel cross-over pipes and steel water pump impellers can corrode and / or rust. American Honda recommends changing the engine coolant every 5 years. We changed the engine coolant and filled the engine cooling system with the correct genuine Honda Type II engine coolant / antifreeze.

A fresh, new engine air filter and cabin air filter were installed. The existing filters were not filthy / dirty. This Acura TSX has been very well maintained and the air filters were simply showing signs of age. The filters were replaced as a maintenance starting point - preparing this vehicle for the next owner.

We installed a new serpentine drive belt. All 4 cylinder Acura TSX units have a timing chain instead of a timing belt. When a vehicle is equipped with a timing belt; the accessory drive belt (or drive belts) is usually replaced at the same time the timing belt replacement procedure is performed. Because this vehicle has a timing chain and there is no service interval for a timing chain replacement; the replacement interval for the serpentine drive belt can be overlooked. It is recommended that serpentine drive belts be replaced every 8 years or at the 105,000 mile service intervals. We installed a new Bando Rib-Ace serpentine drive belt.

We installed a new set of Spark Plugs. The new spark plugs in this vehicle are the correct NGK iridium tipped spark plugs. These spark plugs are good for 10 years or 105,000 miles - whichever occurs first.

We installed a new set of genuine factory replacement front brake pads. While working at middle-Tennessee-based franchised Honda and Acura car dealerships; our service technicians learned the importance of only using the genuine factory replacement brake pads and shoes on all Honda and Acura automobiles. For over 22 years that is exactly what Accurate Automotive service techs have installed on our customer's automobiles. The genuine Honda and Acura brake linings are quieter when braking, they last longer and they warp brake rotors far less than aftermarket (non - Honda / Acura replacement) brake pads and shoes.

We resurfaced the Front Brake Rotors. This machining procedure was performed on-the-hub so the rotors would be cut true and straight based on the precision of the hub that the rotor is directly mounted to. This ensures that when braking, this Acura TSX will be smooth, with no brake vibration or pulsation from warped rotors - which is a very very common issue with ALL VEHICLES.

We installed a new set of front struts. On Honda and Acura vehicles produced over the past 15 years or so; front struts have had an average life span of between 5 to 7 years or around 150,000 miles. Then they have a tendency to start 'popping' when going over bumps or the ride gets very stiff in the front. This car ride was very stiff; so we installed front new struts so the next owner would have a nice quiet, smooth riding Acura sedan.

We installed an adjustable right rear camber arm and performed a 4 wheel alignment. From the factory, most Honda and Acura vehicles do not have an adjustment for rear camber. However as the suspension settles - weakens a little; the vehicle ride height lowers slightly. This causes the rear camber to go negative which can make the rear tires wear faster on the inside of the tread - especially if the vehicle is loaded with weight, via many passengers or hauling stuff. We have seen this issue on Honda and Acura vehicles as new as 2016 models. While most repair shops and dealers will ignore an out-of-spec negative camber issue because it is not adjustable from the factory; we will install very high quality replacement suspension parts as needed to correct the out-of-spec alignment situation. The alignment on this Acura TSX is now straight and true on all 4 wheels.

We Evacuated and Recharged the A/C System. The A/C system uses R134A refrigerant, which took the place of R12 - commonly referred to as "freon" around 1993 / 1994 year model cars. Proper R134A refrigerant level on newer vehicle A/C systems is a very tight window and MUST BE PROPERLY PERFORMED using a machine. A guy with a hose and a can of refrigerant cannot properly charge an A/C system. With a high quality - industry standard - Robinair A/C machine; we evacuated the refrigerant from the A/C system, ran a 10 minute vacuum on the system, replenished the compressor oil and charged the A/C system to the max. capacity of the correct R134A refrigerant.

New NWB windshield wipers were installed. In our 22 years of business; Accurate Automotive has always recommended OEM windshield wiper blades and inserts. NWB is a company that American Honda uses to supply many of their windshield wiper blades. There may not be a better windshield wiper manufacturer in the market. However, the cheaper quality aftermarket wiper blades are sometimes more expensive and can scratch windshields when they come apart! This Acura TSX has new,  top quality NWB windshield wiper blades on it and NWB was the OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer for the original factory wiper blades.

Why Buy from Accurate?

A brief history: In 1997, Accurate Automotive opened as a shop, specializing exclusively in the repair and maintenance of Honda and Acura automobiles. The reason for specializing is because all of the members of the technical staff are former Honda and Acura franchised dealership technicians. In 2004, after moving into their new facility, they expanded their business to include the sales department that specializes in Honda and Acura automobiles.

Now for the reasons:

1. All of their inventory is selected by one of their technicians

* Most off of lease programs with American Honda Financial Co.

2. Most of the inventory is from southern states (FL, GA, TN, NC, SC)

* Avoiding undercarriage corrosion resulting from exposure to road salt and severe winter weather driving.

3. Prior to marketing, inventory units are fully serviced with all components / systems working properly.

4. Finally, all units are meticulously detailed inside and out prior to marketing
